One of the biggest Italian clubs AS, hit by crisis, appointed former unemployed Luigi Del Neri to the position of head coach of their team - the coach finished negotiations today and signed a two-year contract.
"I am looking forward to starting work and I will give all my enthusiasm to 'Roma'. Every coach hopes to work with a big club, and 'Roma' is one of them. There were some minor problems, but the quality of the team is unquestionably good. There are some players who have proven their worth, and some talented young players. I am very happy to be here," said Del Neri.
The 54-year-old former "Chievo" coach L. Del Neri becomes the fourth coach of the team in three months - after Fabio Capello moved to "Juventus" in the summer, Cesare Prandelli, who replaced him, had to step down due to family reasons, and Rudi Voller, who led the team for only 26 days, could not handle the players.
This year, "Roma" has only won one out of four Italian championship matches and lost both Champions League games. On Sunday, the new strategist faces a tough challenge, as they will have to host the Milan club "Inter" at home.
