After three successful years of work, the club president Jaime Orti resigned from his position. The president stepped down for personal reasons.

"It was a personal decision and I am glad about it," said J. Orti at a press conference. "When you make such an important decision, you always look back and see if you are satisfied with what you have done. I am proud of what I have achieved."

The new club president is Juan Bautista Soleras, who holds the majority of the club's shares.

J. Orti became president in July 2001. Under his leadership, the team experienced one of the most successful periods in its history, winning two Spanish championships, the UEFA Cup, and the European Super Cup.
