Italy intends to fight for the right to host the 2012 European Championship. According to the Italian press, the president of the local football federation, Franco Carraro, hopes for the support of the country's government.
"If we submit an application, we will have to select eight cities. They must have well-maintained airports, hotels, and roads," Carraro said. "We will raise this issue and engage in discussions with the government."
