Coach Arsène Wenger is afraid that some European clubs are giving doping substances to their players. He expressed these concerns during debates on football's contribution to European integration held in Brussels.
The coach claimed that after testing some "Arsenal" newcomers from other European clubs, there were suspicions that they were using Erythropoietin doping.
"We have had several players from abroad in our club, whose red blood cell count was abnormally high," A. Wenger said. "Such things are worrying."
"There are clubs that give doping to players without their knowledge. Clubs can say that they are giving vitamins and the player won't need to know what else is being given," he added.
