Spain's national football team held their first training session in Lithuania today. Yesterday they did not want to train at the poor condition "Žalgiris" football base, today half of the team arrived at the FK "Vėtra" stadium, located near the station.

Spaniards were supposed to train at this stadium since 9 o'clock in the morning, but they woke up feeling cold and decided to postpone the training. The team was accompanied by numerous Spanish journalists, about 50 of them. Only accredited persons were allowed into the stadium, so a dozen students and a few adults who gathered at the stadium to get players' autographs and take photos with them were unsuccessful. The team bus drove into the stadium courtyard and the players went straight to the dressing rooms.

The training started with stretching exercises. Later, the players did some light jogging. The Spaniards finished the training with shots on goal from 16 meters and headers after crosses. The second team goalkeeper S. Canizares looked better than his competitor I. Casillas, reliably defending his goal.

The overall image of the training, compared to the Lithuanian training session that took place on Monday, seemed pale. The players did not show too much determination and did not try very hard, while the Lithuanian team seemed very prepared to seriously resist the southerners.

Returning to the bus, the players willingly signed autographs and took photos with press representatives. Only the last to leave the dressing rooms, the team's "star" Raul, reluctantly and hurriedly signed autographs, refusing to take photos altogether.

According to the coach of the Spanish national team, his team faces the toughest challenge yet in this qualifying group.
