On Tuesday, the Spanish national team arrived at the central Vilnius "Žalgiris" stadium around 7 pm, where they had their last training session before tomorrow's match against the Lithuanian national team.
Although the Spaniards arrived earlier than expected, they did not rush to the field from the changing rooms. Only A.Luque, D.Albelda, and I.Casilas quickly appeared on the green lawn. The other players had to wait a long time until the national team coach went into the dressing room and urged the players to hurry up.
Unlike the morning training session, all those willing were allowed into the "Žalgiris" stadium, so many children and teenagers gathered in the stadium wanting to see their "idols," get their autographs, and take photos with them.
As the Spaniards started walking out of the dressing room, they were slightly shocked to see so many fans gathered at their training session, and they did not give autographs. All the players calmly walked to the middle of the field. Once again, Raul caught the eye, as he did not pass through the fans, but simply lowered his head and walked past.
It is worth mentioning that the security guards treated the Spanish journalists more kindly and gave them more freedom to watch the training session. The journalists could approach closer to the field and walk along the sidelines.
The training session started with ball control exercises. Later, the players were divided into pairs and passed the ball to each other with both feet and head. Midway through the training session, the players started playing "area," and later played football across half of the field.
One team consisted of players from Madrid's "Real," "Barcelona," "Deportivo," as well as footballers playing in England like X.Alonso and J.Reyes, while the other team was made up of players from "Valencia" and the remaining Spanish clubs. During the match, M.Salgado and F.Torres collided. The latter lay on the field for a long time and even needed medical assistance. This mini-match ended in a 0-0 draw.
At the end of the training session, the Spaniards took shots at goal from about sixteen meters out. It is possible that S.Canizares will be guarding the goal for the Spanish national team in tomorrow's match, as after all the players headed back to the dressing room, he continued training with his coach for ten more minutes.
As the players boarded the bus, they were greeted by about 50 fans who eagerly sought autographs and photos. Everyone, except for Raul and Albelda, happily posed for photos and gave autographs to everyone who wanted them.
So, there will be no more training sessions. Tomorrow, Wednesday, at 21:15, everyone will gather at the "Žalgiris" stadium or in front of their TV screens to watch this extraordinary match against one of the strongest teams in the Old Continent.
