On Tuesday, eight matches of groups A-D were played in the UEFA Champions League. It was a better day for the home teams - five of them won, two drew, and one suffered a defeat.
In Group A, last season's finalist "Monaco" became the leader by overcoming "Olympiacos" at home with a one-goal margin. In other matches, "Liverpool" failed to beat "Deportivo" at their home ground and the match ended goalless.
Group B is becoming more interesting. "Roma" extended their tragic Champions League season with a defeat against Leverkusen: after leading in the first half, the visitors received two red cards in the second half and "Bayer," taking advantage of the numerical superiority, scored three goals and celebrated a victory. Meanwhile, "Real" narrowly defeated the "Dinamo" team. Both teams in this group have now gathered 6 points, while "Roma," suffering their third consecutive defeat, is still without any points.
In Group C, the giants' clash was won by the "Juventus" club, who defeated "Bayern" and became the only team in the league to win all three matches so far. In the other match of the group, "Ajax" crushed "Maccabi" at home and secured their first victory.
In group D, the French champions "Lyon" surged into the first position with a convincing victory over "Fenerbahce" in Istanbul. "Man Utd" are two points behind Lyon after playing a draw away against "Sparta."
