In the European youth selection tournament held in Slovakia, the Lithuanian national team finished second in the fifth group and advanced to the next qualifying stage. Despite a 1-3 loss to the tournament hosts Slovakia, Lithuania secured the second place due to earlier victories of 1-0 against Malta and 3-2 against Georgia, guaranteeing the right to play in the second stage. The only goal scored in the match against the Slovaks was scored by Andrius Bartkus representing Klaipėda's "Atlantas," who scored all five goals for Lithuania in the tournament. In the second qualifying stage, which will be played until next May, the teams will be divided into seven groups, with each group winner advancing to the final European Championship tournament. Lithuania will participate in the sixth group, alongside Ukraine, Russia, and Norway.
