La Liga: "Barcelona" and "Valencia" failed to win © EuroFootball.com

Yesterday (Saturday) two matches of the Spanish championship ("La Liga") were played. In neither of these matches, the favorites were able to win: "Barcelona" played a draw with Bilbao "Athletic" as visitors, and "Valencia", defending the champion's title, failed to defeat the ten remaining Madrid "Atletico" players.

In the city of Bilbao, supported by passionate local fans, "Athletic" found themselves in the role of the trailing team in the tenth minute, as the Cameroonian forward Samuel Eto'o took advantage of a defensive error and led the visitors ahead. To the disappointment of the Catalans, young Spanish national team member Yeste scored a goal after just four minutes over "Barcelona" goalkeeper Victor Valdez.

The match held in Valencia was also intense. Taking advantage of a goalkeeper's mistake, defender Miguel Angulo put the hosts ahead in the 64th minute, playing on the left instead of the injured team leader Vicente. Although after six minutes "Atletico" forward Veljko Paunovič was sent off the field due to a second yellow card, one of Spain's biggest hopes Fernando Torres equalized the score with an individual run in the 78th minute.
