For the 15th time in the club's history and for the first time since 1988, "Malmo FF" became the champions of Sweden. This was revealed after yesterday's final round of matches, in which "Malmo FF" defeated "Elfsborg" with a minimal score at home, while the main rivals, "Halmstad" with Lithuanian player Tomas Žvirgždauskas, who played the entire match and received a yellow card in the 53rd minute, played to a draw with "IFK Goteborg".
Before the final round, "Malmo FF" and "Halmstad" had 49 points each, but due to a better goal difference, the new champions secured the first place.
The champions of 2002 and 2003, "Djurgardens," finished this year in fourth place.
The Lithuanian in the team of "Halmstad" played a total of 25 matches this season, scoring two goals and assisting a teammate once.
Another Lithuanian, representing the last-placed "Trelleborgs" club this season, played a total of seven matches, but did not stand out. It is worth noting that the player did not play in the last "Trelleborgs" match against Solna's "AIK," which the Lithuanian club lost at home with a score of 1-3.
