On Monday in Frankfurt the draw for the 2005 FIFA Confederations Cup, which will take place in Germany in June, took place.
The Confederations Cup is held every two years and involves the strongest national teams from all continents around the world. In 1997, the tournament was won by the world champion Brazil, in 1999 Mexico triumphed at home, and in 2001 and 2003 the strongest team was the French national team.
For the upcoming tournament, eight teams were divided into two groups. In group A, the host Germany will compete, along with the Oceania Cup winner Australia, the Americas Cup runner-up Argentina, and the Africa Cup winner Tunisia.
Meanwhile, group B will consist of the world champion Brazil, the European champion Greece, the Asia Cup winner Japan, and the North and Central America Cup winner Mexico.
