On Tuesday, "Borussia" Mönchengladbach confirmed the news that Dutchman Dick Advocaat has been appointed as the head coach of the team.

The mid-table German Bundesliga club "Gladbach" decided to let go of coach Holger Fach after last week's 0-3 loss to "Bochum," and his assistant Stefan Mücke also left the club.

The 57-year-old former coach of the Dutch national team, D. Advocaat, signed a two-and-a-half-year contract with "Gladbach." He will temporarily replace Horst Köppel, who recently led the team to a 2-0 victory over Munich's "Bayern."

In his previous coaching career, Advocaat has managed Eindhoven's "PSV" and Glasgow's "Rangers," with his last job being with the Dutch national team, where he reached the semi-finals of the 2004 European Championship.
