On the eve of the culmination of the National Championship, Lithuanian football was shaken by a scandal that could determine the end of the "A-League" championship.

Today (10/05), the Lithuanian Football Federation (LFF) received the minutes of the Board meeting of the National Football Clubs Association (NFKA), which oversees the "A-League" championship, where decisions were made to disqualify Panevėžys "Ekranas" from further competitions due to "inappropriate behavior by an NFKA member", and to not hold the crucial "A-League" match between "Ekranas" and FBK "Kaunas" scheduled for Sunday.

Therefore, Kaunas is awarded a victory with a score of 3-0. Additionally, NFKA will consider whether to remove "Ekranas" from the association after two weeks, on November 18th. Board Chairman G. Ugianskis promises to comment on the decisions on November 9th.

According to the current rules of the "A-League" and the agreement between LFF and NFKA regarding the execution of the "A-League" championship, the decision-making authority lies with the NFKA Board. However, this board was elected for a year on November 4th of the previous year - its mandate and rights expire today.

LFF employees refuse to comment on this situation until all circumstances are clarified and additional information is obtained. According to the latest reports, the "Ekranas" club complained about harassment and was therefore accused of violating NFKA rules.
