The newcomer of the Italian "Serie-A" championship "Livorno" has decided to extend the contract with the Lithuanian national team striker Tomas Danilevičius.
The 26-year-old Lithuanian has signed a contract with the Italian team valid until 2009, extending the previous contract by two years.
Since moving to Italy in 2002, the Lithuanian has not managed to establish himself in the main lineup - most of the time he would come onto the pitch after a substitution or when other players were injured. In two seasons, T. Danilevičius played 42 matches in "Serie-B" and scored 5 times, whereas this year he played in four matches and scored once.
However, knowing that the team's main striker I. Protti is already 37 years old, "Livorno" likely decided that the Lithuanian would be needed in the future and extended the contract.
T. Danilevičius began his career at Klaipėda's "Atlantas", then played for "Bruges", Moscow's "Dynamo", Lozano's "Sport" teams, represented the famous London "Arsenal" three times, and before moving to "Livorno" he played for "Beveren".
