Security Ryan Giggs rejected the club's offer of a new one-year contract. The player justified his decision by saying that he wants to sign a longer contract.
"I was offered a new one-year contract, but I rejected it," said the thirty-year-old footballer. "I hope they will come back and offer me a longer contract. At the moment, all I can do is wait and see what happens."
Welshman R. Giggs spent his entire professional career at the "Man Utd" club. The current contract of the footballer, who has played in more than 500 matches for the "Red Devils," will expire at the end of this season.
Meanwhile, the "Man Utd" club, dubbed the richest club in the world, promises to start implementing a new wage-saving policy, under which the player's salary will depend on the time spent on the field. Furthermore, as there are currently 25 players in the club's first team, team director D. Gillas even threatened coach S. A. Ferguson that if he does not sell some players, the club may not have money for summer signings.
