Football players at the end of June did not receive their late wages, confirmed the club president Sandro Rosellas.
Replacing Joan Laporta in office last week, Rosellas also added that a loan of 150 million euros was taken to solve this problem.
"We found the club in debt, with liquidity problems," said the new leader of the Spanish champions. "We had to take a loan to fulfill our obligations."
A few days ago, "Barca" sold defender Dmitro Chygrynskiy for 15 million euros, although head coach Joan Laporta wanted to keep him in the team. In addition, Yaya Toure left for "Man City" for 24 million euros.
However, Rosellas hurried to reassure the team's fans by saying that the situation is under control: "Banks know that we have a plan to repay the borrowed money. The club will not go bankrupt because it makes money."
"There should be no cause for alarm, because everything is under control. We just need to resolve this tense situation. Everything can be done in two ways: earn more profit, for example by selling Chygrynskiy, or take a loan, as we did."
"The previous board had already started this process. We are going down the same path - using the services of the same bank, having the same goal, but with a different business plan."
Rosellas added that these problems will not be an obstacle to acquiring Arsenal's midfielder Cesc Fabregas: "We would not pay 50-60 million euros, as the press writes. If the English do not demand ridiculous sums, he can move to Barcelona."
"Another 50 million euros will be allocated for the acquisition of other players, as usual. That is our plan for the future."
