On Sunday, the Lithuanian national and youth teams who flew to San Marino suffered losses. Edgaras Jankauskas and Žydrūnas Karčemarskas will not be able to represent the national team, and it is also unknown if the youth team player Marius Žaliūkas will recover in time.

Yesterday's scheduled team trainings turned into a light jog, as it was not possible to enter the field due to rain. After the light jog, the Lithuanians returned to the hotel. Team representatives said that the conditions were worse than in Lithuania for the Spanish team.

Yesterday, the main goalkeeper of the team, Žydrūnas Karčemarskas, pulled his groin muscles, and doctors cannot yet say whether he will recover by the Wednesday match. The defender of the youth team, Marius Žaliūkas, had a fever and did not train yesterday or today.

On Monday, Edgaras Jankauskas and Aurelijus Skarbalius, who played in clubs over the weekend, were supposed to join the national team. The team captain arrived, but the team's offensive leader announced that he had torn a thigh muscle and therefore could not help the team.

E.Jankauskas' loss could be particularly painful, as it was already clear that another main striker, Robertas Poškus, would not play in this match. So, in the offensive line, only Tomas Danilevičius, Tomas Radzinevičius, who has never started official matches from the beginning, and I.Morinas, who has been without a club for a long time this year, are left to carry the burden of scoring the necessary goals for victory.

Therefore, reinforcement was received from the youth team - one of the leaders of this team, Saulius Mikoliūnas, joined the sparse national team. U-21 coach Vitalijus Stankevičius said that this was a big loss for his team.

"There are many new faces in the team. One of the former leaders, Miceika, arrived, but he will only train with us once, so it is not clear if he can help. It's good that the opponents are not Yugoslavs, but we also do not expect an easy victory, as shown in the first match," Stankevičius said.

Today in the evening, the youth team is supposed to train at the main stadium, where tomorrow's match will be played. During the day, the video of the first match with San Marino was reviewed.

"We highlighted mistakes. In the first match, we only played through the middle, and that was our biggest mistake," V. Stankevičius said. "In these matches, we will try to utilize the sidelines of the field."
