Three Spanish national team footballers are among the top ten candidates to become the best player of the World Cup.
Joining forward David Villa, who has already scored five goals, are midfielders Xavi and Andres Iniesta. The other finalist representatives are two Dutch players - Wesley Sneijder, who has also scored five times, and Arjen Robben.
Among the contenders are also two Germans: Bastian Schweinsteiger and Mesut Ozil, as well as Argentine Lionel Messi, Uruguay's leader Diego Forlan, and Ghana's striker Asamoah Gyan.
As for the best young player, the candidates are one of the leaders of the German national team Thomas Mueller, Ghanaian player Andre Ayew, and Mexican Giovani dos Santos.
