After the victory of the national football team at the World Cup, Spain was shaken by an unprecedented celebration.
At least 300 thousand people watched the live broadcast of the match on a huge screen set up in the capital Madrid, and after the winning goal by Andres Iniesta, the celebrations began.
Spaniards wearing red and yellow t-shirts, waving Spanish flags, united and, forgetting the crisis and political disputes, hugged and congratulated each other.
From the northern Saragossa to Seville in the southwest, "Viva Espana" and similar slogans could be heard. Fireworks lit up the sky, and football fans ruled the city squares.
"If Spain wins, and I'm sure of it, I promised my wife that we will start our fourth child tonight," said one of the supporters before the game.
It seems that this victory will also be useful in creating a new generation of Spaniards.
Meanwhile, tears were flowing in the Netherlands - the first country to reach the final three times but never lifting the trophy as champions.
