According to FIFA rankings, the recently concluded World Cup was more successful for New Zealand than for the 2006 finalists France and Italy, with England's performance being the worst in the country's history.
First place, as expected, was taken by Spain, who defeated the Netherlands in the final.
England finished 13th out of 32 teams, Italy 26th, and France 29th.
North Korea finished last, losing all three group stage matches.
The ranking is based on a team's performance in the tournament, results, and the performance against opponents.
