The club officially confirmed that it borrowed 155 million euros from 9 banks in Spain.
According to the president of Catalonia club, Sandro Rosell, this step was necessary and was known beforehand by the former president of the club, Joan Laporta.
"We knew that we would need to borrow and we are using loans from the same banks, but we have a slightly different business plan on how to liquidate these debts. I have already mentioned that 'Barcelona' has short-term financial difficulties, but it does not pose any problems for us. Everything will be arranged properly. The club is definitely not in crisis," - assured the new president of "Barcelona".
The 155 million euro loan was provided by La Caixa, Banco Santander, Caja Madrid BBVA, Banesto, Banco Popular, Banco Sabadell, Caixa Catalunya, CAM and Cajamar banks.
Tomorrow, "Barcelona" vice president for economic affairs Javier Faus is organizing a press conference in which he will explain the club's financial matters and future plans in more detail.
