The Spanish Football Federation confirmed that national team forward Fernando Torres suffered a first-degree groin injury, which will keep him off the field for about a month.
In the coming days, the forward is expected to return to his club, where additional tests will be performed. Then, doctors will be able to provide a more accurate prognosis.
At the World Cup, Torres initially was a starting lineup player, but later lost his place in the eleven and only appeared on the field during extra time in the final. It was during that time that the injury occurred.
