In the latest FIFA world national team ranking, Spain, the first-time winner of the World Cup, regained the first place, surpassing the previous leader Brazil.

Brazil dropped to third place, being overtaken by another finalist, the Netherlands.

There have been changes among the top ten - Chile, Egypt, and Uruguay are now in the top positions. Uruguay achieved its highest result in history and is in 6th place.

Poor performance in South Africa cost Italy six places, now positioned at 11th place, and France dropped to 21st, despite previously being twelve places higher.

Lithuania dropped from 49th place to 52nd.
