Nicolas Anelka claims that the relationship between the French national team footballers and former coach Raymond Domenech was like a "ticking bomb."
In the recently ended World Cup, Anelka insulted Domenech and refused to apologize. As a result, he was removed from the national team, and other players began to revolt in support of the forward and refused to participate in training.
"If it wasn't me, someone else would have blown everything up," Anelka said. "It was a ticking bomb. Everyone, absolutely everyone, was united."
"If there was even one player who wanted to train, let him speak up. But I am one hundred percent sure that there are none."
Anelka also criticized the 1998 World Cup champion Bixente Lizarazu, who did not mince words about the striking footballers.
"Lizarazu - who is he?" Anelka asked. "When he speaks and we listen, it gives the impression that he is a living legend. But in reality - just a former player, overshadowed by legends like Zidane and Dugarry."
