The club acquired 20-year-old defender Dennis Diekmeier for 2.5 million euros.

HSV was looking for reinforcement in defense after Jerome Boateng left for "Man City" to represent the German national team.

"We are very pleased with this purchase. Dennis is one of the most promising defenders in Germany, and he is also very fast," said HSV strategist Armin Veh.
