The leader of club attacks Milan Baros will have to sit out for three to four weeks due to a calf strain injury. This was revealed after detailed medical examinations today.
The 23-year-old Czech suffered the injury during Wednesday's World Cup qualifier match between the teams of the Czech Republic and Macedonia. The footballer, who has already scored 10 goals this season, was forced to leave the field in the 18th minute of the match.
"Milan was scanned and, unfortunately, a left calf strain was diagnosed," said a representative of Liverpool. "He will not play for about three to four weeks." The representative also stated that the Czech will start the treatment and rehabilitation process starting tomorrow.
This injury is another puzzle for the club's coach R. Benitez, as after the injuries of D. Cisse and M. Baros, there are only two nominal strikers left in Liverpool's squad - Florent Sinama Pongolle and Neil Mellor.
However, the club promises to seek reinforcements this winter, and among the possible candidates to come to England are mentioned Pablo Aimar and Fernando Morientes, representing their respective clubs.
