The Spanish Footballers' Association (AFE) received a notification that the La Coruña club owes money to the goalkeeper Sergio Gonzalez and forward Sebastian Taborda.
Failure to fulfill obligations to former players of the Galician team may result in drastic sanctions, including removal from the "Primera" championship.
According to press data, the Spanish team must pay Gonzalez as much as 4 million euros, and the Uruguayan Taborda - the last two installments.
To settle the debts, the La Coruña club must liquidate by August 2nd, the exact amount of which will be announced by the AFE and the Professional Football League (LFP) commission.
In order to raise the required amount, the "Deportivo" leaders will most likely have to sell one of the club's key players, the Brazilian left-back Felipe Luis, who is actively being pursued by the Madrid "Atletico" team.
