Louis van Gaal mentioned that the upcoming season could be his last as manager of the Munich club.
In the spring, the specialist who triumphed in the German championship and reached the Champions League final does not want to extend the contract, which will be valid for another 12 months.
"My contract ends next year and I do not intend to sign anything until then, neither in autumn nor winter," he said.
In an interview with the magazine "Kicker," Van Gaal said he wants to work with a national team: "I want to work with a national team. I should leave Bayern, because now is the time when national teams are looking for strategists.
"True, maybe I will stay in Munich for another year and wait for the end of the 2012 European Championship. I will work in the next World Cup. I hope so."
