The team captain Steven Gerrard once again stated that he definitely does not plan to leave the team this summer.
The 30-year-old Englishman has long been linked with a move to Real Madrid, but recently these rumors have quieted down, as the Spanish team has abandoned the plans to acquire Gerrard. Meanwhile, the player himself now firmly states that he is determined to stay at Liverpool and praises the new team acquisition, midfielder Joe Cole.
"Joe is a great acquisition," Gerrard said. "I know him very well and I know all of his abilities. He is a player who has proven his worth time and time again."
"I met with coach Roy Hodgson and discussed the team's future plans, which left a big impression on me," Gerrard insisted.
