Philipp Degen is no longer needed by the club. The new head coach Roy Hodgson allowed the Swiss player to look for a new team.
The 27-year-old right-back, plagued by injuries, failed to establish himself in the starting lineup. He arrived at Liverpool in 2008 from Borussia Dortmund.
According to Hodgson, Degen expressed his desire to play, but he does not see a place for him in the team.
Furthermore, on Wednesday, Liverpool officially parted ways with Joe Cole, who successfully passed a medical examination and became a full-fledged member of the team.
