The negotiations between Amsterdam's "Ajax" and Munich's "Bayern" clubs for defender Gregory van der Wiel's transfer to Germany have broken down.
The Dutch team wanted around 19 million euros for the country's national team main defender, but such amount seemed too high for "Bayern" officials.
Although "Ajax" financial situation is not the best, team leaders seem to be inclined to refrain from selling their top players. One reason for this is coach Martin Jol, threatening to move to England if the team weakens.
