Miroslav Klose did not take advantage of the opportunity to move to England to play this summer and decided to stay at the club in Munich, says the club's president Karl-Heinz Rummenigge.
The 32-year-old tall striker, who recently scored four goals in the World Cup and attracted the interest of two English teams.
"We received two offers, which I passed on to Klose's agent," said Rummenigge. "But he told me that Miroslav wants to stay in Munich."
Indeed, Bayern coach Louis van Gaal still intends to use a tactical formation that requires only one striker, even though they have five forwards in the team.
Therefore, both Klose and the other German, Mario Gomez, may once again be substitutes next season.
