Italian television channel "Rai" plans not to show controversial episode videos next season in order to encourage discussion about tactics, rather than focusing on the decisions of the referee.

TV executives want expert commentators watching and discussing match summaries in the studio to avoid long and heated debates about the referee and his mistakes.

"Now we can talk about football with less shouting and more thinking," said "Rai" director Paolo Galimberti.

Such a decision was also praised by the Italian referees' association.
