Saúgas Marcos Senna is proud to be in the spotlight of Spanish champions, but he confirms that there are no negotiations between clubs.

A few days ago, reports appeared in the Spanish media that Senna could end up at "Barcelona", which is looking for a replacement for Yaya Toure who has left for "Manchester City" and is looking to strengthen the defensive midfielder position.

It was stated that Barcelona coach Josep Guardiola is looking for a backup for Sergio Busquets, and Senna seemed like a suitable candidate for that.

The player himself, who is currently in Ireland preparing for the new season with "Villarreal", stated that it is a huge honor for him to be linked with the Spanish champions.

The player's agent believes that if Barcelona actually offered a contract to the 34-year-old midfielder, the Brazilian-born Senna would not hesitate to accept it.

"It would be the highest recognition of his career," Eli Coimbra told the newspaper "El Mundo Deportivo".

"I am convinced: If Barcelona makes an offer, the Villarreal officials will not hinder the player's departure," said the agent representing Senna. "For the past eight years, Senna has not caused any problems for the club. On the contrary - he has been an example of professionalism and the club would surely understand that such opportunities may not come around again for the player."
