Over the weekend in Italy, the Italian Cup (Coppa Italia) round of 16 games took place. Several surprises were recorded - some big clubs had to succumb to their opponents and will have to overturn the deficit in the second leg matches.
The current Serie-A leader, Juventus, suffered an unexpected defeat away to the absolute bottom team of the championship, Atalanta. A.Lazzari scored both goals for the home team. Both Milan teams - Inter defeated Bologna, while Milan defeated Palermo eleven.
Roma, the capital's team, continued their poor season by losing at home to Siena and significantly complicating their chances to advance. Another Roman club, Lazio, lost away to Cagliari, but they will have a chance to make it right in front of their own fans. The only representative from a lower league, Torino, lost at home with a two-goal margin to Sampdoria, while Fiorentina defeated Parma with the same result at home.
A goal fest took place in the game between Lecce and Udinese, where the hosts led 3-0 at one point, but later conceded five goals and only managed to score once. In fact, at the end of the match, Lecce had the opportunity to equalize when the opponents' goalkeeper committed a foul in the penalty area and got sent off the field, but the forward D.Di Michele missed the penalty kick.
