Cesc Fabregas broke his silence - the footballer confirmed that he is staying at the London club.
All summer long, there were rumors that the Spanish national team midfielder would move to Barcelona. Fabregas himself did not deny them, although Arsenal officials repeatedly assured that they had no intention of releasing one of their leaders.
"First of all, I want to apologize to all Arsenal fans for not talking about my future earlier - until this moment, I didn't know how everything would turn out," said the Spaniard, according to SkySports.
"I can't deny that the possibility of moving to a team like Barcelona was very attractive. It's the club where I learned to play football, my hometown, my friends, and family.
"Two offers from Barcelona were rejected. I am a professional and I understand that the London team has no desire to sell me. I owe a lot to this club, so I will concentrate and wait for the start of the new season."
He added: "I can assure you that all negotiations are over and I am 100% an Arsenal player."
Even before this announcement, at an open Arsenal training session, Fabregas was greeted by fans with warm and prolonged applause.
