After the UEFA Europa League match between the clubs "Aris" from Thessaloniki and "Jagiellonia" from Bialystok, there were problems with local law enforcement and Polish football fans.

To support their team, the visiting Polish fans complained that throughout the whole match they were targeted with fireworks, bricks, and various other objects. Some of them were thrown from the VIP tribune reserved for important individuals.

Nevertheless, the Greek police arrested one of the visiting fans and sentenced him to one and a half years in prison. Bail is required for the release of the other detainees.

The Polish fans deny the reports that they arrived at the stadium "armed to the teeth" and insist that both the throwing of objects and the police provocations are clearly visible in the video recordings.
