The new club coach Roy Hodgson revealed before the start of the new English Premier League season that it will be very difficult for the team to win the championship.
"After just seven training sessions, it became clear that we are behind the leaders," said the coach. "It is impossible for the team to show the kind of game we want after such a short time."
"It would be foolish to think that we will show amazing game in the near future, but I believe we will regain our form. However, I cannot promise that we will be at the top of the league table."
Liverpool will play their first league match against London's Arsenal.
