"Real" Faces Punishment for Fans' Racism © EuroFootball.com

UEFA followed FIFA's example and officially announced the start of an investigation into racist chants during Tuesday's Champions League Group G match between the local team and Leverkusen in Madrid.

Less than a week after the racism scandal that occurred during a friendly match between the Spanish and English national teams, racial chants directed at black "Bayer" players Roque Junior and Juano were once again heard on Tuesday night at the "Santiago Bernabeu" stadium. To make matters worse, the chants were accompanied by Nazi gestures.

UEFA today officially announced the start of an investigation into these events and after analyzing visual and other material, reported possible sanctions against "Real".

The Royal Madrid club condemned such actions by fans, but added that they did not record any incidents during the match.
