On Wednesday evening, five more teams emerged victorious and secured tickets to the group stage of the Champions League.

The French team "Auxerre" impressively advanced to the next stage by defeating the reigning champions of the Russian league, St. Petersburg's "Zenit", with a score of 2-0 at home.

Cedric Hengbart and Ireneusz Jelen's goals secured the victory for the hosts, while the guests finished the match with only nine players - goalkeeper Vyacheslav Malafeev and defender Tomas Hubocanas were sent off.

For the first time in the main tournament of the Champions League, London's "Tottenham" team will compete, having crushed Bern's "Young Boys" 4-0 at home and avenged their previous 3-2 loss away.

Peter Crouch scored three goals for the winners, while Jermain Defoe scored one.
