Sebastien Squillaci officially moved to a London club on Thursday. "Sevilla" received approximately 8 million euros as compensation for him.
The 30-year-old footballer signed a three-year contract.
"We needed an experienced high-level central defender at an affordable price - Sebastien met all these requirements," said "Arsenal" manager Arsene Wenger.
"He is a true defender who is difficult to play against one-on-one. In addition, the Frenchman is good at scoring goals with his head and can score himself."
Squillaci will not debut for the new team in the weekend match against "Blackburn."
