Strategist Roberto Mancini admitted that team newcomer David Silva still needs time to adjust to English football.
The Manchester club acquired the Spaniard this summer, but so far he has not shown the kind of game that fans expect.
"Silva needs time," said Mancini. "He is a great player, but playing in the Premier League and the Spanish Championship are two different things.
"This summer we spent money well - we acquired players who can play in different positions. We had a few injuries, but things will improve - after all, we have only played four games."
"Man City" paid almost 30 million euros for Silva.
