On Saturday, the new acquisition of the Catalan club, defender Javier Mascherano, arrived in Barcelona.
The footballer was traditionally presented to journalists in a brief photo session. Over the weekend, the Argentine will undergo formalities - he will be examined by the club's doctors and only then will a four-year contract be signed with him.
The official presentation of Mascherano to the "Barça" fans will take place on Monday.
"It is a dream come true for me. I never doubted that I would leave the team of 'Liverpool' this summer, and 'Barcelona' was my first choice," said the defender, who, according to the media, was also of interest to the Milan "Inter" team.
"I always try to give my all on the field. That was the case in the teams where I played before. Now my main goal is to adapt as quickly as possible and help the new club," noted the Argentine.
Mascherano also confessed to journalists that he had talked about "Barça" with Lionel Messi and Gabriel Milito.
"They both told me that if I come to 'Barça', I will meet many wonderful people here," smiled the newcomer of the Catalan club.
