Sunday match: "Lille" drops points © EuroFootball.com

In the French "Ligue 1" championship, the remaining three matches of the 16th round were played on Sunday. Two games ended in a draw - 1-1, and one match was won by the visiting team.

The "Lille" club lost very important points in the battle for the top of the table for the second round in a row. This time, the "Lille" eleven could not overcome the "Strasbourg" team, which has significantly improved its game recently and slowly climbing up from the bottom of the table - the match ended in a 1-1 draw.

The same result ended the match in Nice, where the local team "Nice", represented by Lithuanian national team striker Edgaras Jankauskas, grabbed a draw with one of the most titled French clubs "P.S.G". After Fabrice Pancrate's goal in the 36th minute, the Parisians took the lead, but in the 65th minute, the capital club defender Eduardo Cisse saw a red card and "Nice" immediately took advantage of it - in the 68th minute, Sammy Traore converted a penalty into "P.S.G" goal and equalized the score. Jankauskas appeared on the field in the main lineup and played until the 55th minute.

The only team that managed to win on Sunday is "Lens". The Lano footballers snatched a victory 2-1 away after Pape Sarro's goal in the last minute against the last year's French league cup winners "Sochaux" team and rose three positions up - from 17th to 14th.
