Jose Mourinho warned Madrid fans not to expect miracles.
The specialist from Portugal has won a total of 17 trophies over the past eight years with "Porto," London's "Chelsea," and Milan's "Inter," including two Champions League titles.
Meanwhile, "Real" last won the prestigious tournament in the Old Continent in 2002, and the last two seasons have been completely empty.
"I am a coach, not Harry Potter," Mourinho said, referring to the famous wizard from the book. "Harry is a magician, but in reality, that does not exist. Magic is fiction, and football is a real thing.
"I spent several months in Madrid and conducted 40 training sessions. Do you know how many training sessions we had all together with the new players? Not even ten. I will repeat - not even ten."
In the first match of the Spanish championship, "Real" unexpectedly played a draw 0-0. But the strategist did not panic: "It would be easiest to change nothing and play as we did last season, using the same schemes. It would be easier to start the season that way, but that path is wrong. I do not want to go in that direction."
