Portugal national team strategist Carlos Queirozas has been suspended for six months. This punishment was imposed after the country's Sports Institute decision that the specialist obstructed doping tests before the summer world championship.
Under the guidance of the National Anti-Doping Agency, the institute conducted an investigation, which revealed that Queirozas insulted officials who were supposed to perform the doping tests and obstructed them with aggressive behavior. All this happened before the competition in the Republic of South Africa.
The Sports Institute informed the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) about its decision, which is the direct employer of the strategist.
Neither the federation nor Queirozas have commented on this announcement so far. Earlier, the coach denied all accusations.
Earlier this month, FPF suspended Queirozas for the same incident, only punishing him for insulting, not for obstructing the test procedure.
It is said that the unexpected visit of specialists, which disturbed the football players, angered the Portuguese team's manager. None of their tests came back positive.
