French national team coach Laurent Blanc distributed the words of the country's anthem to the players and demands that they sing "La Marseillaise" before the European Championship qualifying match against Belarus.
In France, there was silence after the players refused to train during the World Cup. According to many, this was an insult to the country, especially since most of them do not sing the anthem before games.
"It's a sensitive issue, so I personally urged everyone to sing the anthem tomorrow," Blanc said. "They know very well what I think. I distributed the text to everyone, everyone will be able to sing."
And he added: "Everyone can do as they please, but when you know 'La Marseillaise,' you have to sing it."
