The defender of the Lithuanian national team calls the European Championship qualifying match against Scotland the most important game of his life.
A football player competing for the Edinburgh "Hearts" club, who is predicted to be in the starting lineup, knows many of the future opponents well.
"This will probably be the most important match of my life, so I hope for a sweet victory," said Zaliukas. "The Scots will also want to win, they will attack, but we are prepared for that."
"All opponents' players are dangerous, but we also have a good team, so we will aim for victory. It won't be easy, but we want to fight with Czech Republic for the second place in the group. I don't think anyone can match Spain."
The defender is currently negotiating a new contract with "Hearts" and denied that an agreement has not been reached yet due to his demanded weekly salary of 24,000 euros.
"I would like to stay, but we need to resolve a few more issues," he said.
