Maskvas club coach Valerijus Karpinas admitted that he is aiming to sign Yuri Zhirkov from London to join his team.
27-year-old Zhirkov, after transferring from Moscow's CSKA to Chelsea last summer, has struggled to fully establish himself in the team and often spends time on the bench.
"We were interested in him, and that interest has not waned. We have not given up on our plans and will try to take concrete steps as soon as winter," said V. Karpinas.
Zhirkov moved to Chelsea for 18.6 million pounds sterling.
