More than two hundred German national team fans were arrested after clashes with Belgian police.
The former continental vice champions celebrated a 1-0 victory in the qualifying tournament duel, but before, during, and after the match, hooligans who arrived in various Brussels districts without tickets to Belgium clashed with officers.
According to data from the German Football Federation (DFB), about 700 fans traveled to Belgium with intentions to cause disturbances. Therefore, border police carried out checks and did not allow 42 hooligans to leave.
Many of those arrested were released the same evening.
